About alittlehelp

My name is Julie-Anne Harrison and I started alittlehelp so that I could give one on one support to new mums, helping them with parenting and breastfeeding concerns.

Julie-Anne Harrison RN RM CHN IBCLC

I have been working with mothers and babies for over 30 years and in this time have worked as a Midwife in both the public and private sector. I am a mum myself with two beautiful, now adult girls. My passion for supporting mothers and families began during my midwifery training. Since then it has been a privilege to share special moments with new families, in different settings, including maternity, special care nursery and the neonatal intensive care unit.

Wanting to further my knowledge and broaden my understanding of early childhood health, I gained tertiary qualifications in Child Youth and Family Health; this has enabled me to work with infants and their families beyond the neonatal period. My most recent experience has been in the residential, home and clinic environment, working daily with families to help support them with often-complex parenting concerns.

I am also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant which enables me to provide up to date advice and support when it comes to breastfeeding newborn babies and infants. In my role as an IBCLC I have presented to the Australian College of General Practitioners on the subject “Infant Feeding in the Fourth Trimester – Supporting the mother-infant dyad”.

I am very lucky that my passion is also my job. My aim is to work with you to help you achieve your goals. I respect your need to do this in a way that works for you. It is my hope that you feel supported with a little help which will enable you to feel more confident in your parenting role.
